ABP sponsored Ferrybank GAA Weekly Notes

UNDER 11 HURLING:
It’s City League action this coming Friday night May 16th, where the Under 11 hurlers travel to play near neighbours Kilmacow at 6:30pm.

UNDER 16 FOOTBALL:
Our Under 16 Footballers qualified for the Division 4 final with a thrilling 3-07 to 0-13 win over Clashmore/Kinsalebeg last Wednesday night in Clonea. Trailing by four points at the break, the lads were just seconds away in normal time from winning when they conceded a free that resulted in the game going to extra-time.
However, the team fought for one another and got there reward at the end of the game. They now go on to play Mount Sion in the final on Sunday May 20th in Walsh Park, where the time has yet to be confirmed. Best of luck to Tommy, MJ and the team.

UNDER 9 HURLING:
Our Under 9 hurlers are in action on Saturday May 19th at 11:30am, where the ‘White team play away to Roanmore, while the ‘Green side also play away to Stradbally.

JUNIOR HURLING:
Ferrybank’s opening game in the Junior Hurling Championship, away to Dunhill last Friday night, was postponed due to an unplayable pitch.

DÉISE DRAW:
Not too long to go folks for the Super Déise Draw which takes place on Wednesday May 30th, and like last year, there will be six draws over the six months. There are 22 cash prizes up for grabs with the top prize a nice €12,500, 2nd prize €3,000, 3rd/4th prize €1,000, 5th-7th prize €500, 8th - 22nd prize €200. This is the clubs main source of income, with 70% been retained by the club, and we would encourage all players, supporters, members, to buy a Déise Draw ticket, and keep Gaelic games alive in the Parish. Tickets cost €15 per month, and can be purchased from any committee member.
