Ferrybank GAA - Weekly Notes

JUNIOR CAMOGIE:
Hard luck to the Junior Camogie team who were defeated by a much better De La Salle side in the final of the Premium Butcher sponsored competition in Walsh Park last Saturday afternoon. Following a tight first-half, De La Salle took over in the second-half and created the scoring chances which they took, and ran out deserving winners.
Despite this defeat, the girls can look back on an excellent season, and no doubt this young side will bounce back and come back stronger for 2016. A huge thanks to Paddy, Shiner and Nicky for the work they put in with the team, and to the girls for the commitment they gave during the year.

DÉISE DRAW:
This coming Friday night October 30th sees the final Déise draw of 2015 taking place in Cappoquin and let’s hope we can sign off with a couple of winners on the night. On behalf of Ferrybank GAA club, we would like to thank everyone who purchased tickets throughout the year, and without your help we would struggle to keep the finances in order. It is our biggest fundraising event annually, and without your help, it would be impossible to keep the facilities in prime condition. Congratulations to Mark Carew who was the confined winner for September.

JUNIOR FOOTBALL:
After a long wait, the Junior Footballers are in semi-final action this coming Wednesday night October 28th in Carraiganore where they play De La Salle at 8pm. When these sides met in the league campaign, there was only a point separating the sides, so another close encounter is on the cards. Your support will be crucial to the team. Best of luck to Heno and the boys.

Ferrybank GAA - Weekly Notes

JUNIOR CAMOGIE:
The Junior camogie Premium Butcher Championship Final will take place Saturday 24th October at 4pm in Walsh Park. Ferrybank will play De La Salle in the final. Please come along and support the girls.
Many thanks to Brian Flynn of Flynn’s Bar and Off Licence Ferrybank who presented our Junior camogie team with a set of jerseys for the championship.

UNDER 11 FOOTBALL:
Ferrybank played their final game in the Under 11 City League football when John Mitchell’s visited the grounds on Sunday morning. Ferrybank hit the ground running from the start with goals from Daniel Griffin and Jamie, with the two Shane's quickly developed the lead with further goals, and at this point, there was no way back for the Mitchell’s. Odhran and Izaak controlled the centre of midfield, and supplied the ball to Jake and Ruaidhri who scored another four points. John Mitchell’s did mount some creditable attacks, which forced defenders Sean Heff, Sean Fagan, Conor Daly and Adam Aspel to make some frantic blocks. The full forward line of Mattie and Fionn continued to rattle the opposition goal. This was a well-deserved victory and fitting, as we won our first and last games of the campaign.
Well done lads, and thanks to John Mitchell’s for the manner in which they played.
TEAM: Shane Egan, Izaak Richards, Shane Purcell, Mati Tomczuk, Daniel Griffin, Sean Heffernan, Ruaidhri McGarrity, Odhran Power, Jake Butler, Jamie Sutton, Adam Aspel, Conor Daly, Fionn McGarrity.
